Wheaton/Herman-Norcross places fifth in a tough field at the Hawley Tournament over the weekend
At a very good Hawley Tournament this past weekend on Saturday, the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors volleyball team went 2-2, ultimately placing fifth.
The Warriors (9-3 overall) went 1-2 in pool play. They opened with a 2-1 loss to Frazee, then swept Park Christian, before losing in another extra-set match to state-ranked Ada-Borup in the final pool play match.
In the fifth place match, the Warriors swept the Menagha Braves for their ninth win of the season.
Herman-Norcross sports fans, pack up the car pools and head to Wheaton on Tuesday night for a very important Pheasant Conference volleyball match, as host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will entertain a very good Hancock Owls team in a showdown between conference unbeatens. The Owls are 10-1 overall, having just won the Minnewaska Tournament on Saturday after tying Perham, sweeping Minnewaska and Ortonville, and then winning an exciting three-set match over Benson in the finals.
