Tornado warning in effect for Kensington-Farwell-Lowry-Glenwood

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for southern Douglas County and northern Pope County in West Central Minnesota.

At 6:55pm, radar indicated a storm capable of producing a tornado. The most dangerous part of the storm was four miles southwest of Kensington, moving east at 50 mph.

Locations in the warning include Glenwood, Alexandria, Starbuck, Lowry, Long Beach, Forada, Osakis, Farwell, Holmes City, Villard, Nelson, and Westport.

Dangerous weather threatens the Thursday night activities at the Pope County Fair in Glenwood

At 7pm, I heard a report that tornadoes were sighted near Swift Falls as well as Appleton.

Below are scenes from Thursday night at the Pope County Fair...you can see a line of trucks getting in for the Tractor and Truck Pull in the grandstand. It doesn't look promising that the event will take place without weather interruptions.
