1940s dance at Barrett Pavilion on September 18
from Thorson Memorial Library
Thorson Memorial Library and Viking Library System are sponsoring a 1940s’ dance at the Historic Lakeside Pavilion in Barrett, Minnesota on Saturday, September 18th at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:00 p.m.). The dance is free and open to the public and will feature the music of Christine Rosholt (www.christinerosholt.com) and her band. Ms. Rosholt performs widely throughout the state of Minnesota, charming audiences and winning awards for her two CDs.
The dance is a part of “The Greatest Generation” programming taking place at libraries throughout the state during the year. The goal of this programming is to educate Minnesotans about life during the World War II period and honor those who sacrificed during that time. For more information visit www.mngreatestgeneration.org
This event is made possible by a partnership between Minnesota Regional Public Libraries and the Minnesota Historical Society. Made possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008.
